Dandy’s World is a pretty distinct Roblox game. It looks great, it’s got a wild cast of characters, and it’s a bit creepy. Its world looks wholesome and bright on the outside, but there’s a dark undercurrent beneath, the current of Ichor. That’s the dark heart of Dandy’s World lore, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Dandy’s World is out to play on Roblox. Check out our Dandy’s World characters guide for something focused more on gameplay.
Below we’ve written about our observations, questions, and lore secrets.
Gardenview
Dandy’s World takes place in Gardenview Education Center And Museum, a seemingly colorful and friendly place that seems to hide some dark secrets. While it seems innocent at first glance, the complex is deceptively huge, extending down for many floors, and only the top floor is remotely safe.
Toons
Gardenview’s main attraction appears to be The Toons, a set of colorful and adorable characters who feature on a lot of the posters on the walls. You play as a Toon yourself.
If you look around in the Lobby, you’ll see a rules poster that appears to be guidelines for visitors on how to treat Toons.
These include:
- Don’t throw things at Toons
- Listen to Toon Handlers.
- Don’t Pull On Toons.
The presence of Toon Handlers seems to imply that the Toons need to be kept an eye on around the public. Whether for their own safety or for the safety of others, it’s not clear. Certainly from what we see on the lower floors, it might be the former.
This all seems to tie into Dandy, a flower-headed Toon who appears everywhere, and also runs the Lobby shop.
Twisteds
The Toons you’ve seen too far are pretty friendly. As you descend into Gardenview’s lower levels, this changes dramatically. In the lower levels you’ll encounter Twisteds, warped versions of the Toons.
Twisteds are aggressive and territorial, and likely to attack you if they notice you. What made these Toons so deranged? It seems to be the mysterious substance called Ichor.
Ichor
Ichor is a black ooze that flows through the machines in the lower levels. It’s also what turns Toons into Twisteds. It’s also your currency for buying new Toons. You trade them.. to Dandy. What does Dandy want with this dangerous stuff?
Creepy Things You May Have Missed
Looking round you’ll see a few creepy things.
- In the Lobby, you can find a Staff Only door, with splashes of Ichor leaking out underneath. It has what looks worryingly like finger marks, as if someone was dragged through the door by their feet.
- In the central area near the elevators, you can find some letter blocks that seem to spell out ‘Help’.
