Expect Arch Manning to get an official offer after his unofficial visit to Clemson this weekend.

The Clemson football program is expected to formally offer Arch Manning after his unofficial visit to campus this weekend, according to The Athletic.

Manning is the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. Though he has familial ties to Ole Miss and Tennessee and he says he’s wide open in his recruitment, the LSU Tigers may be the early favorite to land the New Orleans native. Clemson has recently extended an offer to the No. 1 overall prospect in the country in defensive end Lebbeus Overton as Clemson begins making their move on the top prospects in the 2023 class.

Would Manning seriously cut strong family ties with the SEC to go play for Clemson in the ACC?

While you would think Clemson would have offered Manning by now, head coach Dabo Swinney is a little more deliberate during the recruiting process than most. He likes to get to know a player and see them in person before formally offering him. This is what he did with Trevor Lawrence, so why would Manning be any different?

Manning is making many unofficial campus visits in June after not doing any during COVID. He will be going to Clemson, SMU, Texas, Alabama and Georgia this month. Other schools such as Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, USC, Virginia and North Carolina may get visits later this summer or fall as Manning sweepstakes kick into high gear.

Even if Manning does get an offer this weekend, he is not going to commit to Clemson right away.
