Universal has unveiled new details for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. According to a release, the event will feature all-new haunted houses, including The Exorcist: Believer (inspired by the new Universal Pictures film), Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count (based on the popular USA and SYFY series), and Universal Monsters: Unmasked (drawing inspiration from Universal’s legacy of iconic cinematic monsters). These attractions are in addition to the Last of Us-themed haunted house announced earlier this year, also coming this fall.
The horrifying experience commences at Universal Orlando Resort on September 1, and at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 7. Watch the trailer for the Exorcist attraction below.
The Exorcist: Believer takes place in Haiti’s bustling street market, where a mysterious folk doll purchase leads to the opening of a demonic portal, triggering the disappearance of two 12-year-old girls in the U.S. With no memory of their ordeal, the girls display alarming behavior, necessitating an exorcism to save them and those they encounter, putting guests at risk of losing their souls.
In Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count, the notorious killer doll seeks vengeance on his disrespecting peers, transforming his haunted house into a slaughterhouse by eliminating anyone who dares to enter.
Finally, descend 60 feet into the Catacombs of Paris in Universal Monsters: Unmasked, where millions of skeletal remains and dark secrets lurk. Legendary creatures like The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and The Invisible Man await, seeking vengeance against guests after the Catacombs open to the public.
Guitarist Slash will once again create an original score for the West Coast version of the Universal Monsters: Unmasked haunted house.
Also included with the new house announcements are Dr. Oddfellow: Twisted Origins, Dueling Dragons: Choose Thy Fate, YETI: Campground Kills, The Darkest Deal, and Bloodmoon: Dark Offerings. These houses are exclusive to Orlando.
Halloween Horror Nights will run on select nights at Universal Orlando Resort from September 1 through November 4, and at Universal Studios Hollywood from September 7 through October 31.
