Here’s a recap of all the action from the final day of week 1 Major 2 qualifiers

The first week of CDL Major 2 Qualifiers concluded with three incredible matches once again. With a reverse sweep to kick it off, and two dominant performances after, here’s everything that went down in day three.

Minnesota ROKKR 3-2 Paris Legion

Paris Legion kept up with ROKKR throughout map one, and eventually took the win. However, this came down to a major mistake by Minnesota, and specifically Standy. With just 7 points for the win, all ROKKR had to do was stay on the hill. However, Standy kept checking his back and sliding out of the hill, losing around 5 possible points. Paris won the map by two, and ROKKR may come to regret that mistake.

Paris Legion ran away with it following the breakdown from ROKKR, winning map two 6-3. Temp was unbelievable in this map, using whatever weapon he could find and performing with it. This was unexpected, but Paris was simply performing better in this matchup. ROKKR began the resurgence with a 3-1 Control win on Tuscan. Standy put in a solid performance, dropping 30 kills and possibly making up for his game one error.

Minnesota ROKKR took this momentum into map four, tying the series at 2-2. This 250-143 Berlin Hardpoint win is where ROKKR should’ve closed out the series 3-1, however, they head to a game five instead. ROKKR completed the reverse sweep and closed out the series 3-2. Standy made up for his map one mistake by dropping 13 kills in the final Map five, with a 3.25 K/D.

Florida Mutineers 3-0 New York Subliners

The Mutineers somehow managed to squeeze a Bocage Hardpoint into this series. Being their best Hardpoint map, many expected it to be vetoed, however, New York let it in and quickly regretted that decision after narrowly escaping a 100-point club with a 250-102 loss. Florida outslayed by 37 kills in this map, with Davpadie and Owakening dominating with their 1.84 and 1.68 K/D’s respectively.

Florida took a 2-0 lead in the series with Skyz absolutely destroying in the Search and Destroy. His 10 kills and 3 deaths led the Mutineers to another map win, looking much better than they did in Major 1. This performance extended into the map three Control, with a 3-1 securing the 3-0 sweep, and surely a roster change is on the horizon for the Subliners.

OpTic Texas 3-2 LA Thieves

The LA Thieves were undefeated on Tuscan Hardpoint as well, and so was OpTic Texas. OpTic’s record stayed intact as they 100-point clubbed the Thieves, and completely dominated them to kick off the series. This map was more than dominant, with OpTic outslaying by a monstrous 45 kills, one of the highest totals in the CDL so far. The LA Thieves hit back strong with a sweep in the Search and Destroy, winning 6-0. It was an even performance from the Thieves, tying the series 1-1.

OpTic bounced back in the Control with a dominant 3-0 win. They outslayed the Thieves by 30 kills, with Shotzzy playing one of his best maps yet with a 2.00 K/D. The Thieves forced a game five with a 250-205 Berlin Hardpoint victory. This was an even match and saw the series go back and forth. However, OpTic Texas closed out the series in game five with a round 11 6-5 win. Shotzzy clutched up in the final round as he continued his great performance in this series.
