Here’s your daily rundown of Major 2 action
The second Major of the 2022 Call of Duty League season continued with day two last night. Some big matches took place with dominant performances and more upsets and the Major swung into full force.
London Royal Ravens 3-1 Paris Legion
The London Royal Ravens were upset by the Florida Mutineers last night in a quick 3-0 sweep. Today they looked to get over that and make a loser’s bracket run. They did exactly that in map one, winning 250-198, with Gismo back to the top of his game with a 1.27 K/D in map one. Gismo continued to clutch up, pulling off a well-played 1v1 to win the second map of the series 6-4 on Berlin. Zer0 however continued to be a menace on Bocage, going 11/4 across the Search and Destroy.
Paris Legion responded in map three Control on Gavutu, and while they only won the map 3-2 they were dominant throughout. Paris outslayed the Royal Ravens by 32 kills as they went on to win the map, with Jimbo putting up a 1.79 K/D. However, London bounced back in an extremely close Hardpoint on Tuscan to win the series 3-1. The map came down to two points with London winning 250-248, pulling off an excellent clutch at the end to win the series.

Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-1 Toronto Ultra
The Los Angeles Guerrillas have continued to improve throughout the season, and with the introduction of Spart for the Major, they’ve been trying out some new things. Spart has led the use of the Volk on Tuscan in the CDL, and he did so once again in map one as LAG took a 250-241 victory. Spart earned both streaks and put up 30 kills as the Guerrillas took a 1-0 series lead.
The series continued on Tuscan, however this time it was Toronto Ultra who came out on top. CleanX was playing extremely aggressively and picked up 12 kills to go with his 2.00 K/D as Ultra tied the series. The Guerrillas proceeded to win the next two maps with a 3-2 Control on Tuscan once again, and a 250-142 Hardpoint on Berlin. Spart performed at his best in the Control, putting up a 1.41 K/D, while Asim was dominant in the Hardpoint with a 1.45 K/D.
Toronto Ultra bow out of the Major in T12 position.
LA Thieves 3-2 New York Subliners
The New York Subliners has looked much improved since the addition of PaulEhx to the roster. They began this series on the front foot, taking a 250-188 Hardpoint win on Berlin to begin the match. The Subliners were dominant, outslaying the Thieves by 17 kills on map one. Map two went the distance, with NYSL coming out on top to take it 6-5.
However, the Thieves did not give up, and instead they began the reverse sweep as they narrowly took map three with a 3-2 win on Tuscan. The LA Thieves then went on to win a 250-211 Tuscan Hardpoint map, before another Tuscan win saw them seal the series with a 6-4 Search and Destroy.
OpTic Texas 3-1 Minnesota ROKKR
The OpTic Texas team suffered a defeat to Seattle Surge on the first day of the Major, and needed to get over that tough loss. They did exactly that in this series, beginning with a dominant 250-144 Hardpoint win. Shotzzy dropped 30 kills with a 1.76 K/D, looking like the best player in the game right now.
Minnesota ROKKR bounced back with a 6-4 Search and Destroy, however, OpTic were too strong as they were victorious in the two following maps, taking the series 3-1 and advancing at the Major.
Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-0 London Royal Ravens
The Los Angeles Guerrillas handed the Royal Ravens a shock loss in the final match of the night, eliminating them from the Major. They kicked off the series with a 250-221 Berlin Hardpoint win. Somehow, the Ravens outslayed by 11 kills but were unable to get the win, leading to an absolute breakdown.
The breakdown continued in the Search and Destroy as LAG swept London in a 6-0, with Spart going 10/3. Finally, LAG closed out the series with a 3-2 Control, advancing to Major 2.
