The St. Louis Cardinals have traded for Minnesota Twins left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ.
Not to be outdone by other teams, the St. Louis Cardinals made a deal at the trade deadline by acquiring left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ from the Minnesota Twins.
Going Minnesota’s way are relief pitcher Evan Sisk and starting pitcher John Gant. This has been a frustrating season for the Cardinals who are 9.5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central standings at the trade deadline. Thought to be sellers, apparently the Redbirds think they can climb up the division standings with the arch rival Chicago Cubs being in fire sale mode now.
As for the Twins, they are completely punting on this season with all of their trades made of late.
