Earlier this week, Activision and the Call of Duty team announced a new anti-cheat system called Ricochet for Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard. According to a new report, Ricochet has already been leaked. As reported by ModernWarzone (via VGC), Ricochet’s kernel-level files are currently circulating online in various cheating forums, and according to ModernWarzone, they’re real. Images currently doing the rounds of the leaked files suggest that they are a few weeks old, which means cheat developers will have a good starting point in circumventing Ricochet. However, the new anti-cheat system doesn’t roll out for Call of Duty until November, so if the leak is real, it’s possible that Activision could change a few things with Ricochet via updates, putting new measures in place. It’s currently unclear who is responsible for the leak, and it’s been suggested that Activision itself could have released the files out into the wild as a decoy to throw off potential cheat makers. However, this is mere speculation, and no evidence has been found to suggest this. The Richochet anti-cheat system launches alongside Call of Duty: Vanguard on November 5th and comes to Warzone later this year.
