Anyone going after the Call of Duty achievements has likely seen no end of unpopular pricing decisions (as is true with many of the best Xbox first person shooters), and now it’s King Kong’s turn to come under fire. Call of Duty’s King Kong B.E.A.S.T. Glove is being described by players as entirely “not worth it” — with “it” being the $80 you might need to spend to get it — due to the fact that it “doesn’t do anything special.” Call of Duty’s B.E.A.S.T. Glove unlocks after purchasing four Godzilla x Kong: New Empire bundlesTo tie in with the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire movie, Call of Duty features four Godzilla x Kong: New Empire bundles which, if you purchase all four, will get you the “B.E.A.S.T. Glove” Gladiator Skin melee weapon (which you can see above thanks to DETONATED’s tweet). It’s this glove that’s causing the furor, as to buy all four bundles (if you don’t have COD Points already), you need to spend around $80 to rack up enough COD Points for the whole Titan Collection.Head over to the Modern Warfare III subreddit and you’ll find one player who took one for the team and “got the BEAST Glove so you don’t have to.” The glove doesn’t seem to have been a satisfying purchase, as u/xGrimaulOnXboxx says, “Holy f*ck it was not worth it. The only plus sides are it counts as a Mastercraft Blueprint (unique inspect) and the joy of punching enemies. But it doesn’t do anything special. I thought it would at least ragdoll enemies, if not corpse launch them. And you can’t even equip camos over it. If you were interested in the melee blueprint, save your money, it is not worth $80.”To be fair, buying all those bundles gets you the rest of the content included in all four bundles, such as new skins, blueprints, charms, and more. Nevertheless, the culmination of those completed bundles being a glove that “doesn’t do anything special” isn’t going down too well. “I can get multiple AAA games for that price that will give me hours of entertainment, spending all of that so a melee weapon and my operator can look different is crazy,” one player replied, while another added, “Over 100$ CAD. For a melee weapon. F*cking insane.”In other Call of Duty news, Activision crushed another 27,000 Call of Duty cheaters over the weekend using its Ricochet anti-cheat system.
