The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Hawks in Game 3, then won the internet when they dropped a vicious troll of the city of Atlanta on Twitter.
NBA Twitter is often a savage place. No jest goes unspoken. And the official accounts often produce the best jabs.
The Milwaukee Bucks‘ official Twitter account proved that after the team took down the Atlanta Hawks in Game 3 on Sunday night.
Their tweet announcing the final score of 113-102 was brutally effective.
That “Knuck If You Buck” line refers to Atlanta-based hip hop group Crime Mob, who released a hit song by that name in 2004.
Using Atlanta’s own tracks against them is a hilariously lethal dig. Well done, Bucks.
The Bucks get to brag over the Hawks after a Game 3 victory
Milwaukee should be flying high after a second-straight victory. Getting a road victory to avenge their Game 1 loss at home has got to feel extra nice.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was his usual self with 33 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. However, he wasn’t the star of the outing. That distinction is reserve for Khris Middleton, who exploded for 38 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Twenty of those points were scored in the fourth quarter, as Middleton outscored the entire Hawks team in the final 12 minutes.
While Middleton went off, Atlanta struggled to close out the game with Trae Young hampered by an injury. The guard sprained his ankle just before the end of the third quarter. Even though he returned, he scored just 3 points. He finished with 35 points.
Milwaukee doesn’t have much of a music scene, at least not comparable to Atlanta. So it’s doubtful the Hawks will be able to pay the Bucks back with a music dig of their own. Instead, they’ll try to do it on the court in Game 4 on Tuesday.
