SEC Media Days will begin in earnest in Atlanta on Monday with these 42 players attending.

When SEC Media Days are underway, it means college football season is right around the corner.

This year’s events will take place at the College Football Hall of Fame and The Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. It will be a four-day event, commencing at 11:00 a.m. ET on Monday, July 18. While this will be Brian Kelly (LSU) and Billy Napier’s (Florida) first time attending as SEC head coaches, everybody is intrigued by the three guys each head coach picks to represent his program.

Here is a list of the three players from each SEC member institution that will be heading to Atlanta.

Not all 14 teams will meet with the media at once, as they will be wisely staggered out throughout the course of four days. Here are the 42 players carefully chosen by their head coaches to best represent their college programs. These players include Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young from Alabama and national champion quarterback Stetson Bennett IV from Georgia.

  • Alabama Crimson Tide: Will Anderson, Jordan Battle, Bryce Young
  • Arkansas Razorbacks: Jalen Catalon, K.J. Jefferson, Bumper Pool
  • Auburn Tigers: Tank Bigsby, Derick Hall, John Samuel Shenker
  • Florida Gators: Anthony Richardson, Richard Gouraige, Ventrell Miller
  • Georgia Bulldogs: Stetson Bennett IV, Nolan Smith, Sedrick Van Pran
  • Kentucky Wildcats: Will Levis, Kenneth Horsey, DeAndre Square
  • LSU Tigers: Jack Bech, Mike Jones, B.J. Ojulari
  • Ole Miss Rebels: Nick Broeker, Cedric Johnson, Jonathan Mingo
  • Mississippi State Bulldogs: Jaden Crumedy, Nathaniel Watson, Austin Williams
  • Missouri Tigers: Barrett Banister, Martez Manuel, Isaiah McGuire
  • South Carolina Gamecocks: Jovaughn Gwyn, Dakereon Joyner, Zacch Pickens
  • Tennessee Volunteers: Trevon Flowers, Hendon Hooker, Cedric Tillman
  • Texas A&M Aggies: Demani Richardson, Layden Robinson, Ainias Smith
  • Vanderbilt Commodores: Ben Bresnahan, Anfernee Orji, Mike Wright

Other notable attendees include Alabama pass-rushing extraordinaire Will Anderson, Auburn’s superstar running back Tank Bigsby and Kentucky quarterback sensation Will Levis. Most of these players are upperclassmen. Only three sophomores will be in attendance: Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, Georgia offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran and LSU wide receiver Jack Bech.

Besides seeing the players do their best to represent their teams well, the other great part about SEC Media Days is fairly obvious: The head coaches, duh! The SEC has several quotable head coaches at the peak of their powers presently. Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban may still be feuding. Lane Kiffin will say anything. Mike Leach is one of one when it comes to the history of the world.

Ultimately, next week in Atlanta will be a great opportunity for the college football world to reconvene and try to figure out who can beat Alabama besides Georgia. Texas A&M should be New Year’s Six caliber. Kentucky is firing on all cylinders under Mark Stoops. Arkansas should be really good and it remains to be seen if Ole Miss can build off a breakthrough season with new players.

Get your popcorn ready, as we have no earthly idea what will be said at the podium next week.
