The cross-play update has arrived for Borderlands 3, adding cross-play functionality for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, Stadia, and PC. The update also brings back the Cartels seasonal event, a level cap increase, and more.Cross-play in Borderlands 3 runs via SHiFT Matchmaking, and you’ll be given the choice to opt in before making a cross-play display name. The cross-play update also adds the “fan-favourite seasonal event,” The Revengence of Revenge of the Cartels, where “your Saurian pal Maurice aboard Sanctuary III will recruit you for another dose of revenge on the brutes who broke his arm (again).” You’ll once again be tasked with taking out Cartel Operatives, who you apparently won’t be able to miss seeing since they “wear bright neon duds like the ’80s never ended.” Killing an Operative lures in Cartel Thugs, which you then take out in order to collect their Hideout Coordinates, before heading to Villa Ultraviolet for “the main event.” The update also allows you to play themed seasonal events like Bloody Harvest, Broken Hearts Day, and Revenge of the Cartels, “whenever you like, for as long as you like.” Plus, the level cap has been increased by seven levels to 72.The cross-play update is available now.
