Diablo IV will be one of the biggest launches of the year when it arrives on June 6, 2023, and it’s only a few weeks away, at the time of writing. Ahead of the launch, Blizzard has released a detailed blog about the games accessibility features, to coincide with Global Accessibility Awareness Day.The game will feature more than 50 individual features, addressing “dexterity, reading text, and vision,” for example the control scheme is entirely re-mappable for players on all platforms. It’ll also include text-to-speech options, vision assistance in the way of re-sizing parts of the UI, the game’s text. You can add highlights to items and players, apply ambient audio cues, and turn on a screen reader. Those were just the features highlighted in the blog post, though it’s clear from the menu’s seen in some of the guide videos listed in the blog that there are many, many more to dig into, should you choose to.Accessibility options make games available to more people, and it’s been a positive turn for the industry to see accessibility get a bigger spotlight than it has in the past.Xbox has had its own accessibility controller for some time, and now PlayStation’s Access controller will help to make some of PlayStation’s best first-party titles available to more players.Source – [Blizzard]
