Esports tournament organiser BLAST has partnered with gaming web browser Opera GX for the BLAST Premier World Final 2024, a Counter-Strike 2 event held in the Resorts World Convention Centre, Singapore.
Opera GX will become the Official Web Browser Partner for the BLAST Premier World Final 2024 and will have its branding feature on the event’s broadcast with in-game and digital advertisements.
The partnership will see Opera GX’s physical branding in the arena appear in the background of the broadcast. Furthermore, Opera GX will be doing a CS2 skins giveaway worth $50,000 (~£38,000) which includes the following skins: Dragon Lore and Howl or Specialist Gloves.
The BLAST Premier World Final is the very last Counter-Strike 2 event in BLAST’s 2024 calendar. Set to take place from October 30th to November 3rd, the event sees eight teams compete for the lion’s share of the $1m (~£766,000) prize pool.
BLAST has also brought in trading platform DLSM as a partner for the Singapore event, alongside three Unilever brands (norr, Unox and Pot Noodle) which will be partners of the brand until September 2025.
This year’s World Final follows a wildly successful BLAST Premier: Fall Final event. The event doubled its 2023 counterparts’ peak viewership with 899,345, making it the fourth most-watched CS2 event of the year.
Opera GX is no stranger to esports partnerships as the brand previously became the global esports partner for Riot Games.
Alexander Lewin, SVP of Commercial Revenue at BLAST, commented on the deal: “With a brand new location on the horizon we’re excited to welcome a new partner to our final Counter-Strike event of the year. As a browser designed to cater towards the gaming community, we can’t wait to see fans interact with Opera GX and all that they have in store for the World Final.”
