Esports tournament organiser BLAST Premier has renewed its partnership with esports data platform GRID Esports.
The partnership will cover all BLAST Premier events for 2022, with GRID continuing to provide the organiser with an array of data for every event. Additionally, GRID will provide integrity monitoring and data security for BLAST events.

The two companies first collaborated in 2018 for BLAST PRO Copenhagen and have worked together since.
Following its collaboration with BLAST Premier, GRID has gone on to become a data partner for the PGL Major 2021, Epic Sports Events and WePlay. Last year, the platform raised $10m in Series A funding.
Moritz Maurer, CEO of GRID Esports, commented: “The long-standing cooperation between us and BLAST is a unique milestone to celebrate. Our goal at GRID is to minimise any additional data-related effort on the part of the rights holder, allowing them to focus on their core initiatives while simultaneously having their data IP leveraged to their benefit and protected from unlicensed use. “
GRID and BLAST noted in a release that the fragmentation of the esports market has at times prevented esports data from reaching its full potential. As a result, official partnerships are a way of providing tournament organisers and the audience with better quality data.

Alexander Lewin, VP of Distribution and Programming at BLAST, said: “Extending our deal with GRID into the fourth year is a true testament to the trust and impressive results this partnership has delivered to date. Real-time and comprehensive data plays a vital part in Counter-Strike for decision-making and performance analysis.
“GRID’s highly reliable data services offer a unique angle of digital entertainment and engagement, helping to bring our global fanbase even closer to BLAST Premier.”
Esports Insider says: GRID and BLAST have been partners for a number of years now. During that time both companies have continued to grow in influence. The renewal of the partnership will see more high-quality data be produced for BLAST Premier events in the future.
