New Call of Duty Black Ops 6 patch notes have arrived from developer Treyarch, and the most welcome news for many is likely to be a fix for a shotgun slug attachment that has been bossing its way through the Black Ops 6 multiplayer. The troublesome black screen bug is also resolved, along with some blocked progression on challenges and mastery badges, and several exploits have been kicked into oblivion. With Nukeown out and a special Black Ops 6 double XP weekend underway, now’s a great time to play.
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the sheer chaos of the tightly-packed Black Ops 6 multiplayer maps. However, those close-ranged encounters have been troubled by a particularly potent slug attachment making shotguns even more deadly in the multiplayer game. That’s provided you manage to successfully make it into the match, as both the competitive multiplayer and Black Ops 6 Zombies modes have been plagued by a spate of players spawning in to find a black screen waiting for them. Fortunately, both should now be addressed.
Along with a fix for the Black Ops 6 black screen bug, Treyarch says it has “resolved an issue with the slug attachment on shotguns dealing incorrect damage.” Hopefully, that should bring things back in line somewhat, although it might mean you’ll have to reconsider how you build the best Marine SP loadout.
Furthermore, Treyarch has resolved an issue where the ranking in Free-For-All was erroneously taking your total score into account, rather than just your elimination points. The new Call of Duty update also removes several challenge blocks. If you weren’t correctly earning progress for dive kills, or found that your diamond mastery badge wasn’t unlocking as it should be, these should now be fixed.
Over in Zombies, two key exploits have been shut down – one that was enabling players to use the Tactical Raft to block zombie movement, and another that allowed you to re-activate timed GobbleGums. Specials and elites killed by scorestreaks will also no longer drop items, but an issue preventing them from being used after completing the Liberty Falls main quest has been fixed.
This Call of Duty Black Ops 6 update is out now. The Black Ops 6 double XP weekend runs through Monday November 4, including double weapon XP and GobbleGum earn rate, and the Nuketown 24/7 playlist is active for that whole duration.
