Players working through the Starfield achievements recently shared their complaints about the game’s latest update, which added mod content via the Creation Club to the Xbox RPG. Alongside player-created content, the Creation Club also offers paid-for DLC for the Tracker’s Alliance, which led to the game being review-bombed. However, the criticism has been heard as Bethesda has addressed the Starfield Creation Club complaints.Bethesda will “look at” how it delivers Creation Club content in the futureDuring a recent interview with MrMattyPlays on YouTube, Bethesda game director Todd Howard was asked about the controversial pricing found in the Creation Club. “First of all, that stuff gets priced based on things that we’ve done before, both in creation club and then with Fallout 76, and we’re always trying to be looking at what else is out there, make sure we’re giving value to everybody, and where we’re not, we definitely will adjust,” Howard said.Much of the pricing controversy was aimed at the new Tracker’s Alliance quest, The Vulture, which costs 700 Creation Credits (around $7). As you can imagine, this gives the impression that new Tracker’s Alliance missions could be similarly priced in the future, potentially leading to it becoming expensive DLC. It appears that the complaints have been heard at Bethesda, and changes might come in the future.”That was an attempt to [recreate] something that we did in [previous Creation Clubs], where we’d say ‘Hey, you get this special outfit and you get this special weapon,’ we kind wanted to put them together and then thought let’s go the extra mile and wrap those around a quest,” Howard said.”Now, we definitely see the feedback, and that’s not what we want at all in terms of [people saying] ‘Oh no, this looks like a faction that we’re chopping up and then selling for 700 credits at a time,’ and so I do think we’re going to take a look at that and how we deliver content like that. Whether we’re changing pricing or breaking it up, or what we should do there.”During the same interview, Todd Howard also confirmed that Bethesda is already planning a second expansion for Starfield, as it hopes to roll out annual story content for the foreseeable future.
