What is the best ZZZ Ellen build? Ellen is an S rank character who uses ice damage to devastate her opponents. Ellen Joe is a member of Victoria Housekeeping who prefers to keep things simple, meaning her best build isn’t anything too complex.
Of all the ZZZ characters, Ellen’s simplicity and her ice damage perks make her easy to master. Upon her arrival in Zenless Zone Zero, Ellen can fluctuate between taking things too seriously, or not seriously enough, being known for preferring a nap over the task at hand.
The best ZZZ Ellen build
Ellen is simple, efficient, and uses ice damage in rapid succession, so therefore you’ll need to consider building her to boost her damage stats. Double tapping the dodge button will have Ellen enter Roaming State, where you can again execute basic attacks to unload a flurry of Scissor Strikes that deal ice damage to enemies.

The Deep Sea Visitor is our go-to ZZZ W-Engine for Ellen, with her sharklike appearance being no coincidence. The S-rank weapon engine’s description can be a little confusing, but in practice it’s simple. Ellen’s already huge ice damage is increased by a further 50%, making it simply unstoppable. Not only this, but her basic attack triggers an increase to her critical hit rate by 20% for eight seconds. Adding a dash attack into any ice damage will further increase that rate by an additional 20% for an extra 15 seconds. Stacking these on top of each other makes Ellen’s damage almost unrivalled.

The Polar Metal set is perfect for Ellen and her ice attacks. With the four-piece set meaning anyone in the team can trigger an increase to her basic and dash attacks when they inflict freeze or shatter, you wouldn’t go amiss teaming Ellen up with other ice damaging characters such as Lycaon or Soukaku.
Since you can equip one two-piece set and one four-piece set on each character, any two-piece set which further increases Ellen’s damage output is a valuable addition to her build. However, we’ve specifically chosen Puffer Electro, which gives her an extra advantage over penetrating enemy defenses.
With all six ZZZ Drive Disks, if you have any duplicates and are having trouble choosing, be sure to check the base stat boost of each. For Ellen, your best choice is any Drive Disk that increases damage, penetrative damage, or her critical hit rate, to really maximize the devastation she can cause. With these weapon engines and Drive Disks equipped, Ellen becomes a valuable asset to any team – but don’t forget to level her up to increase her base stats as well.
