Best Rod From The Second Sea in Fisch
There are two contending rods which I think are the best from Second Sea. This includes both the Great Dreamer Rod and the Free Spirit Rod. Both have high base stats and a unique passive, which makes them versatile and sought-after. But which is truly the best?
Free Spirit Rod
Costing 200,000 E$ from the Isle of New Beginnings, the Free Spirit Rod is cheaper than its competition and, in my opinion, a little better! Versus the Great Dreamer, the Free Spirit Rod has higher luck, which, alongside its passive, makes finding rarer fish easier. This means the Free Spirit Rod is meta for money farming and completing the new bestiaries.
- Free Spirit Rod Stats
- Lure Speed: 25%
- Luck: 150%
- Control: 0.15
- Resilience: 10%
- Max Weight: 5,000 KG
As for passives, it’s similar to the Trident Rod in that it pierces fish during the catch mini-game. However, the control bar of the Free Spirit Rod is significantly larger than the Trident Rod! So, when reeling in a high-rarity, extremely resilient fish, the Free Spirit Rod speeds up the process by stunning them, preventing fish from whipping around the catch bar.
That’s not all! On occasion, this rod will cast gemstones to rain down, which applies the Bloom mutation (x5 Price Multiplier). Stack this with how effortlessly it catches high rarity fish, thanks to its luck boost and pierce ability, and you’ve got a meta rod that reels in the cash.
In contrast, the Great Dreamer rod has an 80% luck boost, and its passive summons a Cthulu every 2-4 catches and doubles fish, with a 5% chance to apply the Cursed Touch mutation. Don’t get me wrong, this is still an impressive passive, but compared to the Free Spirit, it just doesn’t compare when making money and effortlessly tanking the high-rarity population.
