Become The Final Girl (Or Guy) As Puppet Combo’s Lakeview Cabin Collection Heads For Consoles – Gamezebo

Puppet Combo, masters of retro-style horror, will bring Hypnohustler’s classic Lakeview Cabin Collection to Playstation and Xbox later this month, and we can’t be happier at the idea of more people needing to outrun deranged killers. Wait.. that sounded wrong.

Babysitter Bloodbath, Nun Massacre, and Murder House. Even if you’ve not played any of those, the titles might give you some idea of what to expect. These are VHS-styled horror that drop you into a slasher flick and challenge you to find a way out.

Puppet Combo also turned their hand to publishing the work of other devs from a similar grisly wheelhouse, and while Lakeview Cabin is a more 2D, pixel graphics affair, it’s definitely all about trying not to end up in a horror movie death compilation.

Knife To Meet You

You’ll take control of several different characters across a number of stories and locations. They have one thing in common though, they’re in mortal danger and need to use their wits and ingenuity to survive.. because trying to take their attacker head-on is going to go very poorly.

Each scenario challenges you to figure out a way to survive with the tools available to you, but experimentation is all part of the fun. Well, it’s fun for you. It might not be quite so fun for the character getting murdered.

While they might look like cute little time wasters on the surface, the games’ presentation hides a ton of depth you might not notice straight away. There are secrets, hidden lore, and lots of different interactions to discover if you’re brave enough.

The game sits at Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam, and we’re pretty excited to hear that the console crowd will get their chance to it for themselves. Lakeview Cabin Collection drops for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S on the 19th of July.
