Battlefield job listing suggests return of single-player campaign

It appears that EA is done messing around with multiplayer-only Battlefield games, as a newly-discovered job listing reveals that the publisher is looking to hire a design director for a new single-player Battlefield campaign. Much to fans’ dismay, Battlefield 2042 doesn’t feature a single-player campaign, leaving many to wonder if future entries into the franchise would also be multiplayer-only. However, a newly-discovered job listing (thanks, PCGamesN) reveals that the next Battlefield will feature a campaign and that EA is looking to hire a design director who will “manage the design team and design vision of a new Battlefield campaign.”Next Battlefield game could feature a campaignHiring for its new Battlefield Seattle Studio, EA says the new design director will “orchestrate the mission design, narrative, game mechanics, and systems to create the highest quality experience possible” and “embrace the core tenets of the Battlefield franchise and make sure they are woven through all layers of a masterfully designed single-player campaign.”The successful applicant will join industry legend and Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto at EA’s new Seattle studio, which was formed last year. In a recent interview, DICE general manager Rebecka Coutaz revealed that Battlefield 2042 was the only focus for the studio and that it had no time for any other projects.
