EA finally started talking about the new Battlefield game this week, with head of Respawn and group GM for EA Studios Organization Vince Zampella telling IGN it will use a modern setting. IGN also exclusively revealed the first concept art for the new Battlefield, below, which in turn set the game’s community off on a detective hunt to work out where in the real world it was set.Now, fans reckon they have a pretty good idea where the concept art takes place.Warning! Potential Battlefield spoilers follow:Video game content creator TacticalBrit tweeted to say the concept art shows a war-torn Gibraltar. That’s all we really have on the new Battlefield though, save snippets of information Zampella gave to IGN, such as the unpopular Specialists system being ditched in favor of more traditional classes. The concept art also suggests ship-to-ship and helicopter combat will be part of the new game, and that it will feature natural disasters like wildfires.Every IGN Battlefield ReviewFour EA-owned studios are working on Battlefield: DICE for multiplayer, Criterion for single-player and multiplayer, Motive for single-player, and Ripple Effect for a “new experience.” There’s no release date or launch platforms yet.
