Battlefield 2042 Season One has been delayed into early summer, which will give the team additional time to update other areas of the game, including an in-round scoreboard, voice communication, and more.DICE has been on a bumpy road since Battlefield 2042’s release in November 2021, and the team has been scrambling to introduce community-requested updates — a road so bumpy Insiders are reporting that EA is looking at making the game free-to-play. Due to this, DICE has announced that Season One will now launch sometime in early summer so that the team can focus on implementing much-needed changes. The next Battlefield 2042 update is set to introduce a refreshed in-round scoreboard, which will include two tables that separate your team from the enemy. A future update will introduce scoring and End of Round reporting.According to the planned update list, we can expect to see various quality of life improvements in the coming months, including adjustments to the game’s gunplay, ping system, squad gameplay rewards, and Portal mode. A Player Profile will be introduced so you can see a better overview of your career, as well as all platform voice communication (VOIP). Season One will arrive in early summer and herald the start of a four-season year — which looks to include four new Specialists, new locations, and new content. Due to the Season’s delay, DICE will include an exclusive bundle in the next patch for Battlefield 2042 Gold and Ultimate edition owners as compensation for the Year 1 Pass delay. The bundle will include a Specialist skin, weapon and vehicle skins, a melee weapon, and a new Player Card. What do you make of these planned changes?
