Baldur’s Gate 3 will ship with latest patch on disc for Xbox Series X

It’s been tough sitting on the sidelines while players on other platforms enjoy Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3, but as the saying goes — good things come to those who wait. Numerous changes and improvements are included in the Patch 5 rollout this week to all Baldur’s Gate 3 players, and Larian’s director of publishing has confirmed that the update will be shipped within the physical retail version of the game for Xbox.While many players still enjoy holding a copy of a brand-new game in their hands, beginning to play can be a long process while you first wait for the game to install onto your console, and then download numerous updates that may have rolled out before the disc was shipped. Looking at the Patch 5 notes for Baldur’s Gate 3, it will likely come with a hefty install size when it releases later this week, but Xbox players that purchase the disc shouldn’t have to worry about it.”The Xbox retail version, which plays across three discs, will ship with Patch 5 on disc,” Larian’s director of publishing Michael Douse said on X. “Which is really good news. These things have lead times, as you know. Working on the exact version for PlayStation 5.”Last week, Douse laid the hammer down for scalpers hoping to make some extra cash from the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition, stating that stocks won’t run out, so purchasing from scalpers won’t be necessary at all if you’re hoping to pick up the special physical bundle.We don’t have much longer to wait until Larian reveals the Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox release date, as the announcement will be made during The Game Awards next week, December 7.
