While this latest update adds mods to the game, players yet to finish unlocking the Baldur’s Gate 3 achievements might want to hold off, as enabling mods disables Xbox achievements. Still, Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 7 is now available on Xbox and also includes a host of improvements for the Xbox RPG, as well as 13 fresh evil endings cinematics.Patch 7 rolls out for Baldur’s Gate 3 on XboxBaldur’s Gate 3’s seventh patch is a chunky one, so it’s worth taking a look at the patch notes for a detailed look at all of the changes arriving alongside these new features. As for those new features, you’ll now find 13 new ending cinematics for your evil playthroughs. These will activate for old saves, so you don’t need to worry about starting a new character if you’re already doing an evil run. You’ll also find that some bugs for Dark Urge have been squashed, and Honour Mode will now include new Legendary actions, such as Dror Ragzlin now being able to summon nearby spiders to attack you. On Xbox Series X, a new dynamic split-screen mode has been added, removing the rigid screen partition so you can merge into a single screen when your characters are near one another. The most notable new feature for Patch 7, however, is the new mod manager, which gives you a curated selection of community mods to download. While players on PC can already access over a thousand mods, we on Xbox currently have more than 60 to choose from, including mods for unlimited party sizes, weightless gold, and of course a wealth of cosmetic mods. The only downside to this is that you won’t be able to unlock any Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox achievements when using any mods, even cosmetics, so keep that in mind if you’re yet to complete the game. There are a couple of other bits you’ll need to keep in mind if you do enable mods, as they’ll also affect cross-saves and multiplayer. While cross-saving still works between Xbox Series X|S and PC and you can still jump into games with your friends, you’ll need to synchronize your mods. Larian has added a new verification window, which will pop up before you load your save or load into multiplayer to make sure all parties use the same mods. Players who use mods on PC that aren’t available on Xbox won’t be able to carry that save across to console, so you’ll need to use mods that are compatible on both platforms if you like to play on both systems.Larian says it still has more Baldur’s Gate 3 updates on the way, including a photo mode and cross-play, despite the developer now working on two “ambitious” new RPGs.
