Ahead of its arrival later this month, we spoke with Rebellion about the game’s launch into Microsoft’s subscription service. The Atomfall developer thinks Xbox Game Pass is an “amazing challenge” because so many players will have access to the game at launch.Rebellion talks Atomfall’s Xbox Game Pass launch and its challengesWe’ll begin collecting the Atomfall achievements on March 27, 2025Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PCGame Pass tiers: Ultimate, PC Game PassRebellion has long supported Xbox Game Pass with games like Sniper Elite, Zombie Army, and Evil Genius all joining the service at one point or another. Now, Atomfall, the developer’s upcoming post-apocalyptic open-world Xbox game, is the next title to launch into Game Pass, which Rebellion says is a challenge.During our recent Atomfall preview, we sat down with lead programmer Richard May to discuss the studio’s newest IP. When asked about Atomfall’s upcoming launch into Game Pass, May told us that it’s “a huge challenge, because it gives us such a massive audience immediately.””It’s daunting at best when you’ve got that massive audience just waiting in the wings, and you’re going to have so many players immediately starting for fresh… it’s not like you can kind of gradually ease into it,” May said. “It’s an amazing challenge, and hopefully people will enjoy the experience that we’ve given them.”Atomfall is a single-player, first-person survival game set in the UK’s Lake District five years after the real-world Windscale Nuclear disaster. After waking up in a quarantine zone with no memory, you set out to explore the picturesque world in search of answers, scavenge for supplies, fight off monstrosities, and deal with strange cults and odd locals.I had a blast with the game during our Atomfall preview and can’t wait to see it leave our list of upcoming Game Pass games on March 27. We’ll drop our full interview with Richard May next week, so keep an eye out for that. For now, though, are you looking forward to Rebellion’s upcoming game? Drop a comment below and let us know!
