Asus has just unveiled a new ROG mini gaming PC that contains one of the very latest Nvidia gaming GPUs, giving it a surprising amount of gaming power for its size. Inside the new Asus ROG NUC 2025 you’ll not only find a new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 gaming GPU, but also an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU.

We spotted the new Asus ROG mini gaming PC at CES, where we’re currently roaming the show floor. It’s not tiny like some of the latest machines you see from the likes of Geekom, but it’s genuinely small for the spec on offer, measuring just 282.4 mm tall and 56.55mm wide. That’s a small chassis for the spec on offer, making this machine a genuine contender for the best mini gaming PC title.

The machine builds upward rather than outward, and is based on laptop components to keep down temperatures and power demands. So yes, that’s not a desktop RTX 5080 GPU, but a laptop model, but it should still make for a potent gaming machine. The use of a wider chassis than your average laptop also enables Asus to cool the machine effectively, with three fans and a dual vapor chamber apparently making for “silent cooling.”

Asus says the toolless design, with a single thumbscrew on the back, also makes it easy to upgrade, like a desktop, with room for two SSDs, including PCIe 5.0 support so you can install one of the best gaming SSD devices. You can also install up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM running at up to 6,400MHz, and Asus even says you can overclock it as the motherboard is equipped with an Asus ROG BIOS.

Naturally, there’s a load of RGB lighting around the chassis as well, and you can connect up to four 4K displays to it, via the pair of HDMI inputs and two DisplayPort 2.1 connectors. There’s also support for Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7 up to 46Gbps.

We had a look at the new ROG NUC 2025 in the Asus suite at CES 2025, and it has a tiny footprint for the power on offer. You can basically think of it as a high-end gaming laptop inside a mini desktop chassis. Asus hasn’t listed a price or release date for the ROG NUC 2025 yet, but it’s unlikely to be cheap for a top-spec model, especially when the existing RTX 4070 models cost over $2,000.
