The associate game director on Assassin’s Creed Shadows has revealed that players will have the chance to experience most of the game’s content as either protagonist, but said that it’s overall a balanced approach Speaking with VG247, Simon Lemay-Comtois revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows doesn’t have any ‘hard gating’ when it comes to specific characters, although there are character-focused story moments. It’s a balanced approach. Most of the content can be played by either character, and there’s no hard gating that says this is a Naoe thing. Story moments are character-focused, but the rest of the game is open, and progression incentivizes you to switch because when you play just one character for a while, they will pick up stuff for the other character to use.
