During Apple’s big iPhone 15 event last September, they announced a number of high-profile AAA titles that would be making their way from consoles and PC to these beefy new iOS devices. Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Death Stranding Director’s Cut have all already made their way to the App Store in the months since, but there was still one announced game that had yet to show its face: Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Well back in late April Assassin’s Creed Mirage showed up in the App Store for pre-order, revealing that it would be free to download and try with a $49.99 one-time IAP to unlock the full game, comparable to the price it goes for on other platforms. It also revealed that the release date for the iOS version would be June 6th. For those who are familiar with how our large spinning rock works, it is in fact June 6th in some parts of the world already, and indeed Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now available in those regions.
For those of us in the US the game will likely go live when our group of time zones rolls over to tomorrow, which for people on the East Coast happens at 11pm ET and then 8PM PT for people like me on the West Coast. One pleasant surprise to the game becoming available is that we learned Ubisoft is running a launch sale on the game, so from now until June 20th you can actually buy that full unlock for $24.99 which is 50% off of its regular price. As our pal Mikhail is finding out too, since it’s out in his territory, it appears that Apple has upped the download size limit for games (or at least for this game) as the initial download clocks in at a whopping 10.51 GB and there’s likely some downloading to happen post-install as well. Make some space! Assassin’s Creed Mirage is limited to A17 Pro chipped iPhones, so iPhone Pro 15 and iPhone Pro 15 Max only, as well as iPads that are M1 chip or higher. I’m excited to see how this one fares on iOS devices and we’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the coming days following its full global release.
