Officially confirmed after weeks and even months of rumor, Assassin’s Creed Mirage enjoyed a full reveal at Ubisoft Forward today, with a cinematic trailer and the confirmation that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release on PS4 and PS5 platforms in 2023.Casting players as Basim, the mysterious Middle-Eastern warrior that made his debut in 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has players leaping around and stabbing their way through ancient Baghdad as they seek to undermine an ancient evil.Narrated by fan favourite actor Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse) who plays Basim’s mentor Roshan in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla shows us the origins of Basim as he goes on a journey to become a ‘Hidden One’, an early form of Assassins that we would see in later games. Assassin’s Creed Mirage was confirmed to take place twenty years before the events chronicled in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. With a focus on stealth, parkour, assassinations and more tightly knit and focused narrative, Assassin’s Creed Mirage looks set to return to the more streamlined mechanics that defined the earlier Assassin’s Creed titles prior to the more expansive open-world, action RPG design that was first introduced in Assassin’s Creed Origins. You can catch the official reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage below:Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release for PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2023.
