While we weren’t expecting to collect Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag achievements via a reported remake for quite some time, recent Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag rumors suggest that we could be playing the Xbox open-world game far sooner than expected.Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake was reportedly expected to launch next yearAs reported by Insider Gaming, Ubisoft was apparently targeting a November 2025 release window for its rumored Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake (codenamed Obsidian) before delaying Assassin’s Creed Shadows last month, which has reportedly affected the Assassin’s Creed launch pipeline. It was apparently down to launch alongside codenamed Invictus, a Fall Guys-like multiplayer Assassin’s Creed game, although it’s unclear when both of these games will now arrive. There are apparently ten Assassin’s Creed games in development, but we’re yet to learn when many of them will surface.. Shadows was initially supposed to release next month but has been pushed back to February 2025. Ubisoft didn’t discuss specifics in its announcement, only that the delay gives the team extra time for polishing and “pushing further some of our key features.” Reports following the announcement suggest that the delay is due to issues with historical accuracy and that changes are being made to protagonist Yasuke during the delay.Ubisoft isn’t in the most stable position right now after its share price dropped to the lowest it has been in ten years following the launch of Star Wars Outlaws, so further changes to the Assassin’s Creed launch pipeline could still be on the table. According to reports last week, Ubisoft’s founders, the Guillemot family, are reportedly in talks with Tencent to take Ubisoft private.
