Today’s ID@Xbox Showcase just gave us our first look at gameplay for Clash: Artifacts of Chaos — a new brawler set in the Zeno Clash universe — as well as a November release date. Unsurprisingly, it looks absolutely bonkers.Ace Team is heading back to the surreal world of Zenozoik for another hard-punching, weird-looking slice of abstract madness. Pseudo’s adventure is fuelled by meaty melee combat where you can develop your own fighting style (a little like Absolver), albeit with third-person action this time as opposed to the Zeno Clash games’ first-person fistfights, with that pulled-back camera seemingly allowing for a broader variety of possible moves.Interestingly, there also seem to be some nods to the Souls games, at least going by the game’s Steam page. “During the day, you can exchange messages and items with other anonymous players via a system of carrier pigeons; at night, Pseudo’s dreams come to life and, if you wish, you can play in co-op mode or PVP in a Zenozoik inhabited by creatures out of nightmare.” Oh, and there’s also a dice game, a strange little fuzzball companion creature, and plenty of weird and wonderful gimmicks you can bring to mix up the fights, which could add a neat twist. As if Clash wasn’t already weird enough, but we’ll take it.Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this November. Liking the look of this strange pseudo-sequel?
