During this year’s WWDC, Apple announced a couple of neat features for its music streaming service, including Lossless and Spatial Audio. And these features are now making their way to the Android Apple Music app as well, although limited to beta testers for now.

The description does mention that only compatible devices could make use of the Spatial Audio and thousands of Dolby Atmos-ready tracks currently available. There’s a Dolby Atmos badge on the album page to let you know that the tracks are compatible. The same goes for Lossless Audio.

The settings menu shows a couple of options for you to choose from – High Efficiency: AAC with low data usage (for cellular only), High Quality: AAC 256 kbps, Lossless: ALAC up to 24-bit/48 kHz and High-Resolution Lossless: ALAC up to 24-bit/192 kHz.

Lastly, the Android app now adds an automatic crossfade between tracks that offers seamless transitions as you listen. And there’s a bit of search optimization going on so you can find your favorite music more easily.
