Platformer Animal Super Squad could be delisted from the Xbox store soon. Double Moose Games has confirmed it is pulling the Steam version “shortly” as a “vital feature” of the game can no longer be accessed. Unfortunately, this community feature was made defunct when Amazon shut down its GameSparks platform in September 2022 (hence the three discontinued achievements). Now, DoubleMoose Games says that because players can no longer share user-generated content with one another, it is delisting the game from Steam. “When we made Animal Super Squad, we used a certain type of software to enable players to share their created levels with each other,” DoubleMoose Games said. “Since then, the owners of this software have sold their company, and the buyer has ended support for this software. This causes players to no longer be able to share user-generated content with each other. Since this was a unique selling point of our game, we no longer feel that we can in good conscience sell our game on Steam, as it’s missing a vital feature of the game design.”DoubleMoose hasn’t said anything about the Xbox version being removed from the Microsoft Store, but if you want this platformer in your collection, now is the time to grab it.
