We are looking for a UAS Remote Pilot who will operate a diverse set of UAS platforms of different sizes and configurations in a range of demonstration, service delivery and test activities. This will include following detailed requirements to meet client expectations and conduct a wide variety of demonstration events both in the UK and overseas. Staging these events will require a lot of planning, both operational and logistical, involving collaboration across the business to ensure a successful outcome. As a UAS Remote Pilot you will also be required to conduct flying currency and qualification checks and deliver activity to support to the Safety Management System (SMS) and Incident Investigation Procedure.
Responsibilities… what will you do?
You Will Be Responsible For
Operating in compliance with the Flight Operations Manual (FOM), CAA issued Operational Authorisations, Air Safety Management Plan (ASMP) and other policy documents that relate to the safe and efficient conduct of flight operationsConducting flight demonstration activity in diverse locations (both UK and international) to meet the needs of the Business Development (BD) demonstration scheduleConducting liaison with ATC, airfield authorities, support facilities and external agencies to enable successful flying operationsConducting new flying site assessments, demo recce’s in preparation for new operational activity and compile reportsConducting a full range of planning activity to enable the successful delivery of demo and service delivery activityAssisting in the maintenance of the company online operations management portal for a growing number of pilots, UAS platforms and equipmentConducting duties required to actively support the Safety Management System (SMS)Assisting in engagement with various global regulatory authorities to enable flying operations/client trials in a timely and efficient mannerAssisting in the development of Operational Safety Cases (OSC) for >25kg systems and BVLOS operationsMaintaining currency and qualification checks to enable successful flight operationsConducting any other support activities for company operations that can be reasonably expected for your role and experience.
Essential skills and experience… what are we looking for?
You Will Have The Following Skills And Experience
UK CAA UAS Remote Pilot (Fixed & Rotary Wing) qualified up to 25Kg MTOMHold a UK CAA General VLOS Certificate (GVC) or equivalentFull driving license (B+E)Significant and demonstrable flying experience in commercial UAS roles on rotary and fixed wing UAS (minimum of 50 logbook hours)Significant knowledge of UAS relevant (UK CAA) Civil Aviation Publications (CAP 722 Series, CAP2038A00 and CAP1789A)Experience of the planning and execution of UAS operations in austere, diverse environments in challenging conditionsExperience of writing risk assessments and method statementsExperience of UAS design techniques and system integrationIn depth knowledge of UAS systems, including autopilot design and functionality, airframe, engineering methods, data link, propulsion systems and aerodynamicsA methodical and analytical thought process to identify system deficiencies quickly and assist in the development of technological solutionsHighly self-motivated, problem solver with good communication skills and a proactive approachIT literate, including but not limited to MS Office
Desirable Skills And Experience
Hold a PPL/CPL/ATPL qualificationExperience of R/C flying (BMFA A & B)Experience of paramotor operationsKnowledge of European (EASA) and global (ICAO) regulatory developmentsKnowledge and understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) techniques (CAA CAP 795 & 1059) and the key principles of a ‘Just Culture’ environment
