It’s looking like you won’t have long to wait to get your pre-orders in for AMD’s new flagship graphics card. The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT pre-order window opens on January 23, according to retail site B&H.

While AMD‘s latest isn’t expected to go toe-to-toe with Nvidia’s greatest, the RTX 5090, it is still expected to offer a compelling balance of performance and price that should see it make for a strong counterpoint to the RTX 5070. Whether that ultimately earns it a spot on our best graphics card guide, we’ll have to wait and see, but if you’re keen to get your order in early and find out for yourself, you might not have long to wait.

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT pre-order date is being shown on the B&H retail site alongside placeholders for product listings of the cards. Where there would normally be a stock level indicator it instead reads “New Item – Coming Soon. Preorder starts at 9:00am ET, Thu Jan 23.”

Four cards are shown on the site for the search term “Radeon RX 9070”, with all four being Asus models. There’s the Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT Prime, Asus Radeon RX 9070 Prime, Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT TUF Gaming and Asus Radeon RX 9070 TUF Gaming.

No images or specs for the new cards are provided, but we’ve already seen some of them in the flesh on the show floor at CES 2025. Head on over to our AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT hands on pictures story for a glimpse at the TUF Gaming variant of the 9070 XT, which looks fairly similar to the company’s existing RX 7900 XT model that you can buy here. Despite being a mid-range GPU, it uses a huge, triple-fan cooler and has three eight-pin PCIe power connectors.

As for what this GPU can do, some of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT specs have been revealed by AMD but the price and release date are still under wraps for the moment. We would expect it to be a sub-$600 card, though, given that AMD is pitting it against the RTX 5070 and that card is priced at $549.
