Witchfire Classes
In Witchfire, after watching a very short initial film in which the incipit of the game is explained to us, we should choose the class our character belongs to. This choice is not always very simple, but with this overview of the classes that we want to give you in this article, you may find the process easier.
First, let’s say that you can choose between six different classes in Witchfire, namely Butcher, Hunter, Slayer, Shadow, Saint, and Penitent. As we have already said, each of the classes that are present in the game is made up of its own characteristics, with strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, as usual, having one class rather than another allows you to have a completely different way of playing.
Butcher
The Butcher is the class that all those who prefer a more direct and offensive approach in games should choose. Witchfire is a mix of different genres (fps, soulslike, extraction, and roguelite), so in itself it lends itself to a very varied gameplay that still tends to be quite frenetic due to its fps component. Since this class is characterized by this more offensive approach, it already has higher parameters regarding Vitality, Healing, and Endurance. In fact, they are the three main parameters to increase if you want to be offensive and choose this class.

- Midas (Auto Rifle): Heats bullets, boosting damage, or igniting enemies.
- Bittersweet Nightshade (Fetish): When low on health, any damage taken makes the fetish release a powerful shockwave.
Hunter
The Hunter is the perfect class for those who want to have a more hybrid sort of approach and not be too offensive or too defensive. The Hunter is equipped with fairly high statistics right from the start with regards to Healing, Endurance, and Metanoia (i.e. the ability to absorb witchfire, i.e. the experience you will get every time you defeat enemies).
Starting Gear
- Ricochet (Auto Rifle): Bullets ricochet among marked enemies.
- Painted Tooth (Relic): A tooth among witch’s ashes. Criticals shots on full-health enemies ignite them.
Slayer
The Slayer is the perfect choice for all players who decide to use the same weapon to defeat the “abomination” they are fighting, namely the witches. This class, in fact, will use sorcery as its main weapon to defeat enemies, so you will have an important focus on the use of spells. However, the Slayer doesn’t mind short-range combat either, so it’s a great hybrid class for those who want to both use spells and a bit of gunpowder. Consequently, this class has very high parameters regarding Witchery, Endurance, and Luck (i.e. the drop rate of objects by enemies).

- Cricket (Hand Cannon): Dash after a kill reloads and boosts the gun.
- Lightning Bolt (Light Spell): A lightning bolt that knocks back and shocks enemies.
Shadow
As can be understood from the name of the class, this is the right choice for all players who prefer to approach Witchfire in the shadows and not with a direct and front-line approach. Even the initial weapon possessed by this class is perfect for being able to hit enemies from a distance and perhaps from elevated positions. The initial parameters have a focus on Witchery, Metanoia, and Luck precisely to try to increase the effectiveness of combat from afar.

- All-Seeing Eye (Bolt Action Rifle): Critical hits hurt all enemies inside the All-Seeing Eye.
- Shockwave (Light Spell): A shockwave that stuns nearby minor enemies and exhausts major ones.
Saint
In Witchfire, the Saint is the perfect class for all those who decide to initially focus on the Luck parameter. Remember that this parameter is the one that allows you to obtain a greater number of useful objects in the drop of the enemies you are going to kill, so it is certainly a good choice to start with. However, all other stats will not be as boosted, so you would have to spend a lot of points if you want to boost something.

- Ricochet (Auto Rifle): Bullets ricochet among marked enemies.
- Vulture (Crossbow): Fires a difficult-to-satiate arrow that actively seeks the next target after wounding one.
- Ice Sphere (Heavy Spell): Spawns an icy sphere that protects the caster from damage and freezes any enemy that gets inside it.
- Book of Serpents (Relic): A powerful amulet disguised as a grimoire. Anyone who hurts its owner is cursed with Decay.
Penitent
Finally, the last class present in Witchfire is that of the Penitent. As you can imagine from his name, he is a tormented character who will have to deal with his past, which is certainly not rosy and which has marked him for the rest of his life. This is a class that is not easy to use, as its focus is greater on the Metatonia parameter, or the possibility of obtaining more experience during your expeditions. If you are a player who is not afraid and loves challenges, you could opt for this class.
