Alan Wake 2 will get New Game+ and an alternative narrative after launch

Alan Wake 2 launches on Xbox Series X|S tomorrow, October 27, and before you’ve even had a chance to experience Alan’s nightmare for yourself, Remedy Entertainment has announced that we’ll be able to play through it again via New Game+… at some point.Remedy hasn’t got an expected date for the New Game+ mode yet, only that it is “coming after launch,” but it has revealed what we can expect. According to the announcement on X, the New Game+ mode will arrive with a new alternate narrative, as well as fresh Manuscript pages and video content, and a new Nightmare difficulty level. Much like other New Game+ modes, we’ll keep hold of our unlocked weapons and upgrades for our fresh run through the game.We’re still waiting to see the Alan Wake 2 achievements, but the game launches on Xbox Series X|S tomorrow, so we won’t have to wait too much longer. Last week, creative director Sam Lake said that Remedy has some “pretty significant” free DLC planned for Alan Wake 2, which will come as a bonus on top of the two premium expansions: Night Springs and Lake House.
