Remedy Entertainment has released a first update for hit survival horror sequel Alan Wake 2 and assured fans it’s looking into the audio issues affecting Xbox users. The patch notes — for update 1.00.05 on PlayStation 5, 1.0.6 on PC, and 1.0.0.7 on Xbox Series X and S — don’t get too specific about the changes they make, but promises multiple fixes for bugs, visual issues, UI-related issues, and localisation issues. Despite the different patch names, Remedy assured “there is now parity” between all three versions.A little unusually, the update also promises a “significantly friendlier error message when third-party software stops the game from starting” on PC.The latest patches don’t address the main audio issues players have encountered, however, especially on Xbox, but Remedy said in a X/Twitter post it is “aware of the audio cutting off on Xbox and are looking into it”.The developer also thanked fans for their response to Alan Wake 2 and for providing feedback to the team. “Thank you for the incredible response to Alan Wake 2,” it said in another post on X/Twitter. “We are looking at all of your feedback. We will be addressing a few technical issues we have noticed over the weekend as soon as we can and continue to update the game.”The game was otherwise very well received. In our 9/10 review, IGN said: “Alan Wake 2 is a superb survival horror sequel that makes the cult-classic original seem like little more than a rough first draft by comparison.”Players can also check out IGN’s Alan Wake 2 Guide and essential tips and tricks to get the most out of playing the long-awaited survival horror sequel.Alan Wake 2 Patch NotesXbox Series (1.0.0.7)BugfixesLocalization fixesFixed multiple visual issuesFixed multiple UI-related issuesFixed an issue where players could get stuck in interacts and not exit PC (1.0.6)BugfixesLocalization fixesSignificantly friendlier error message when third-party software stops the game from starting.
