Alabama football and Georgia are on a collision course for the SEC title but the Crimson Tide may not want to hear what Paul Finebaum has to say about it.
If Alabama and Georgia met in the SEC Championship Game this week, who would win?
That’s the question posed to Paul Finebaum this week and his answer won’t make Alabama very happy.
“I haven’t picked against Nick Saban since Tim [Tebow] was a sophomore at Florida, but today I would go with Georgia,” Finebaum said on SEC Network.
Paul Finebaum would take Georgia over Alabama right now
Finebaum picking Georgia is a reflection of how good the Bulldogs have been this season. Their defense is utterly dominant while their offense has two capable quarterbacks and a host of weapons at their disposal.
Alabama has been largely impervious during Nick Saban’s tenure but they have looked vulnerable at times this season. A loss to Texas A&M proved they can be beaten. A team of Georgia’s caliber should have the edge given the current data.
The season still has a long way to go. Georgia could also slip up while the Crimson Tide could be spurred on to greatness by their loss. You just never know.
The only thing that does seem certain is seeing the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide in the SEC title game in December.
