PC peripherals and monitor manufacturer AOC has announced a new collaboration with Porsche Design through its AGON by AOC brand.
The new PD34 monitor, which the two companies co-designed, is the latest device in a long partnership between the two brands. The screen features a 240Hz refresh rate and a UWQHD resolution, among other high-end features.
Porsche Design is the official design company of German automobile manufacturer Porsche, known for creating high-end luxury items and collaborations with brands from different industries. The brand has created a wide range of products during its history, including computer screens, mobile phones, gaming chairs, luggage, watches and other consumer products.
The new screen is a result of an existing partnership between AOC and Porsche Design, which has birthed several high-end displays, such as the PD49 and the smaller PD32. The screens are inspired by Porsche’s design language, featuring premium materials and a minimalistic approach. The PD34 is, according to Porsche, inspired by the design of the Porsche 911’s elements such as the wheels, grille and interior.
Under the hood, the monitor features a series of high-end features that are expected from devices in the premium segment. The 240Hz refresh rate is paired with AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC, as well as other gaming features such as an FPS counter and a crosshair overlay.
The screen features a UWQHD resolution of 3440×1440 and has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, in addition to a claimed colour accuracy of 100% sRGB, 99% Adobe RGB and 99% DCI-P3. Of course, each unit will vary slightly, but AOC promises that every screen will be factory-calibrated.
The screen is, interestingly, one of the few models that AOC offers with this feature set. It is also the only ultrawide display that offers them as of right now.
The new PD34 monitor will be available through Porsche Design’s stores for £999.
