Back in February, we already shared the news with you that World Flipper JP was shutting down. Now, it’s time for the global version of the game as well. World Flipper Global EOS is on July 25th, 2024. Six months after the Japanese version ended, it’s the global version saying Sayonara soon.
What’s The Game About?
World Flipper had a nice blend of old-school pinball vibes and modern RPG with gacha mechanics. Launched globally by Kakao Games in September 2021, its pinball-style gameplay wrapped in 2D pixel graphics made it feel both retro and new. You can collect characters, evolve them and enjoy their special skills based on one of six elements.
The game has a main storyline, side stories and boss battles where you and two friends can team up and play together. The storyline recently reached Chapter 12, wrapping up the main plot instead of leaving it hanging. You can check out the game on the Google Play Store before it pulls its plug.
Why Are We Having World Flipper Global EOS?
World Flipper had to flip its last ball as it was a bit too niche, despite its refreshing concept. Cygames, the developers who are famous for working on their own projects and characters, had high hopes for World Flipper. But the game couldn’t quite keep up with market demands.
In my opinion, one of the big reasons the game struggled was because the gameplay could get pretty repetitive. Many players found themselves auto-playing the same stages repeatedly, which got boring quickly. Although, there were some exciting parts, like the high-difficulty content that required more skill and strategy. It just wasn’t enough to keep most players interested for the long haul.
