The Valiant, an action-RTS with RPG elements set in the 13th century, has been announced as “coming soon” for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.THQ Nordic and Kite Games have announced The Valiant as a new action-RTS which will lead us across 13th century Europe and the Middle East as we fight to find some mysterious artefacts. We got both an announcement trailer and a gameplay trailer, which you can check out below.The Valiant announcement trailer”A veteran of the Crusades, an ancient artefact and the temptation of power,” we’re told. “The hour of reckoning is drawing near — will you be able to save the world from your former brother-in-arms?” A press release gives more info: our character is Theoderich von Akenburg, who used to be a crusader knight, and who had hoped to put war behind him. Yet his former comrade Ulrich von Grevel found part of an artefact known as the Rod of Aaron. When put back together, the artefact is a weapon of powerful evil. Theoderich has to find the pieces of the relic first, to stop Ulrich from putting it back together. The Valiant gameplay trailerTheoderich forms a motley crew of allies in his journey. The Valiant is focused on “more tactical combat with smaller forces.” You can play through the single-player campaign and two multiplayer modes — there’s the Last Man Standing mode for three players to face waves of enemies, and PvP modes for 1v1 and 2v2 combat. The Valiant is “coming soon” to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
