Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the “second largest profit generating game in Ubisoft’s history,” less than a year after launch. The news comes via Ubisoft’s earnings report (thanks, Eurogamer, which states that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla managed the feat in less than a year: “In less than 12 months, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is already the second largest profit generating game in Ubisoft’s history, reflecting the remarkable strength and value of the franchise.” Ubisoft compared Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s success with that of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, saying, “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been outperforming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey across the board since its release, notably with higher DARPU levels. This quarter, the Siege of Paris expansion, whose creation was led by the amazing team at Ubisoft Singapore, delivered record engagement.” The company also briefly touches on its plans for Valhalla’s future, adding, “We plan to deliver great new content for year 2 of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, notably in the second half of the current fiscal year.” The most recent content to arrive for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was the Discovery Tour: Viking Age, but Ubisoft has previously said that Valhalla will “benefit from a stronger and longer post-launch programme” than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, so it seems we can expect still more. We’ll keep an eye out for Valhalla’s future content. In the meantime, what do you think? Did you expect Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to do as well as it has done for Ubisoft? Let us know in the comments!
