Dragon’s Dogma II is being lauded as one of the best fantasy adventure games to ever hit the industry, but players are having to find a way to love it through a deluge of issues, both with the game’s technical performance, and other choices Capcom made that players aren’t too keen on.Thankfully Capcom is working to fix a number of these issues, and on Friday pushed a new title update to PS5, which is now live for players to download. This update includes the ability for players to create a new save file, a feature confusingly omitted from the launch release, increasing the number of “Art Of Metamorphosis” items, and making a quest which lets players unlock the ability to acquire their own dwelling available earlier in the game than before. It also includes more display options, like being able to set a 30 FPS cap on gameplay, and toggles for turning motion blur and ray tracing on or off. When it comes to the new display options however, Capcom warns that these aren’t the proper fix to the game’s technical issues. A future update will include a more comprehensive fix, but for now these seem to be a band-aid solution. You can see the full patch notes, below.Dragon’s Dogma 2 PS5 Title Update March 29, 2024 Patch Notes[PlayStation®5 / Steam]Adding the option to start a new game when save data already exists.Changing the number of “Art of Metamorphosis” items available at Pawn Guilds in the game to 99.Making the quest that allows players to acquire their own dwelling (where they can save and rest) available earlier in the game.Miscellaneous text display issues.Miscellaneous bug fixes.[PlayStation®5]Adding the option* to switch Motion Blur on/off in Options.Adding the option* to switch Ray Tracing on/off in Options.Adding the option to set Frame Rate at Max 30fps in Options.*These options won’t affect frame rate significantly.
