A double dose of StarCraft goodness has just hit Game Pass

One of the true godfathers of the RTS genre, StarCraft’s gripping, strategic multiplayer action has likely sapped up hundreds or thousands of hours of your time over the years. While multiplayer is already free to play in both the original and its successor, PC Game Pass subscribers can now dive into StarCraft Remastered and all of the expansion content from StarCraft 2 as part of their subscription.

While I’d hoped to see Activision Blizzard titles hit Game Pass at a slightly faster pace than we’ve seen, the service has still been blessed with Diablo 4 and, most recently, the huge day-one release of Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Now it’s the turn of another huge name from the ABK catalog to get the Game Pass treatment. While the library already boasts some brilliant RTS games like Stellaris and Age of Empires, the addition of all the content from StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2 is a real cherry on top of the cake.

In StarCraft Remastered, you’ll be able to experience the original’s scintillating gameplay like never before, with a stunning overhaul to its visuals and its audio. This includes its incredible Brood War expansion, which is an essential play.

Then with the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection, Game Pass subscribers will be able to play four excellent expansions – Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, Legacy of the Void, and Nova Covert Ops. If you’ve been looking for a great single-player strategy experience, you’ve got it right here. While competing against some of the world’s best players is of course the ultimate challenge, these campaigns will seriously put you through your paces and force you to adapt and strategize on the fly.

StarCraft Remastered and the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection are available to those with a PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription right now. If you’re already subbed, be sure to head into your library and check both games out. If you’re an RTS fan that isn’t already subscribed, it may genuinely be worth enrolling for a month to experience these brilliant expansions if you’ve always thought about doing so.
