Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was showcasing his talents in more ways than one way on Sunday over at training camp.

For the Kansas City Chiefs, the return of training camp means Patrick Mahomes is getting ready to try and help the team get back to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season. Mahomes, fresh off his offseason foot surgery, is ready to rock with Week 1 inching closer.

While we’re always going to see him throw the ball around with ease, who knew he could step in and help out the defense if needed? While that will obviously never happen, Mahomes showed off his defensive back skills during practice on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes showing his abilities as a cornerback at practice was great to see

That’s awesome right there. For Mahomes, he’s back to full health and feeling great. The fact that he’s mobile enough to try and swat down passes like this has got to have Chiefs fans fired up. At the same time, it also shows that he’s having fun out there.

Mahomes had a rough stretch this winter, as he and the Chiefs lost in the Super Bowl to Tampa Bay, and then Mahomes underwent surgery shortly after. Despite those setbacks, the morale for Kansas City is incredibly high right now.

They’re the favorites to win the Super Bowl and understandably so, especially after all the great moves the front office made. The focus was the offensive line, which of course fired Mahomes up.

Now, the stud signal-caller is getting himself ready for what should be another big year. While we’ll enjoy him making these defensive plays at camp, folks can’t wait for him to fire deep balls down the field in the regular season.
