Warhammer Skulls is the yearly showcase for the franchise’s video games, and this year has offered us plenty in the way of Space Marine II, Darktide, and more, as well as being hosted by Captain Titus himself, Clive Standen.Sharpen your blades, load your rifles, and flood the battlefield with hellfire, because the battle-hardened universes from Games Workshop are offering up a plethora of new games for you to test your skill. Warhammer Skulls Showcase full showWarhammer 40,000: DarktideThe four-player co-op first-person shooter from Fatshark, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide received a new release date cinematic trailer. The game launches on September 13th for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and takes players to Atoma Prime’s hive city, Tertium, to stop the forces of Nurgle from spreading their contagion. Both the Standard and deluxe Imperium editions can now be preordered, and it’ll launch straight into Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.Total War: Warhammer III – Immortal EmpiresCreative Assembly’s upcoming Total War: Warhammer III game mode, Immortal Empires was announced with a fairly chaotic trailer. It’s said to be the “grandest campaign in strategy gaming,” and will enter into its open beta phase sometime in Q3, 2022.Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & TeefLaunching on October (Orktober) 20th, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Ps5, PS4, and PC, Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef is an arcade-like shoot-em-up featuring everyone’s favourite space boyz. It features online co-op for up to four players, that pits you against hordes of enemies in fast-paced shootin ‘n choppin gameplay. It looks like crazy fun, and we’re all for it! To Waaaaagh!Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Be’lakor Chaos WastesWarhammer: Vermintide 2’s next expansion, Be’lakor Chaos Wastes, launches on June 14th and sends you on a dangerous mission against the master of illusion and terror. While playing through Expeditions you’ll find come across areas touched by Be’lakor’s dark ways, as well as have to deal with two brand-new curses. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine IISaber Interactive managed to slip through the showcase without showing any Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II gameplay, and we’re still eagerly waiting for a release window, but we did get a short developer update. It does show some previously unseen environments, though, and Clive Standen stepping into the shoes of another mighty warrior, so we’re content with that!Blood Bowl 3Cyanide Studio uncovered two additional teams entering the stadium when Blood Bowl 3 launches sometime later this year: the Old World Alliance and Chaos Renegades. The Old World Alliance is made up of Dwarves, Halflings, Humans, and a fairly substantial Tree Man for support. The Chaos Renegades’ sport a slightly more ferocious looking team of Humans, Dark Elves, Skaven, and Green Skins. Both teams offer their own special boons and bonuses, and the three new arenas also have a few surprises in store.Warhammer 40,000: BattlesectorSlitherine Software revealed Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector’s upcoming roadmap, which looks to introduce a new horde mode that will pit you against “seemingly infinite tides of enemies.” You’ll be able to tackle these enemies as the Adepta Sororitas, the next playable faction to join the game. We weren’t given an expected window of release for them, though, but fingers crossed that they’ll come soon.Warhammer 40,000: BoltgunWarhammer 40,000: Boltgun hit us square in the face with its nostalgic old-school visuals and retro-FPS gameplay. To be honest, Focus Entertainment doesn’t really help the situation with the trailer’s intro, but we’re not complaining. It’s set to launch in 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and you can be sure we’ll let you know when we find out more about this beauty.Warhammer: 40, 000: Inquisitor – MartyrNeoCoreGames dropped a surprise of its own: an Xbox Series X|S and PS5 upgrade of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr. The new edition will include every DLC pack released to date, 4K visuals, higher resolution textures, cross-gen multiplayer, and improved physics and destructible environments. We didn’t get a release date for it, but it’s set to launch sometime this year, so we shouldn’t have too long to wait, with any luck.Warhammer 40,000: Rogue TraderIt’s still very early days for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, but Owlcat Games is offering a Founders Pack now for players eager to get involved early. It’s an RPG “adventure full of fascinating characters, non-linear quests, and fateful decisions that will shape the outcome of your game.” We’ll let you know once we have more details about the game.Warhammer 40,000: WarpforgeAnother surprise announcement; Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge is a new collectable card game (CCG) from developer Everguild. You’ll have a chance to construct your own deck of heroes or villains and tackle a single-player campaign filled with fast-paced battles, or head into draft and constructed modes to test your skill. It’s currently set to launch on PC in 2023 but other platforms are planned to follow at a later date.What did you think of the showcase?
