It’s been a blast, but online multiplayer party game Super Bomberman R Online is primed to explode in six months, with Konami announcing plans to “terminate the service on all platforms” in December. The statement on Konami’s site adds that the decision is “due to various circumstances,” which is suitably vague, and that in-game purchases will be disabled today and unavailable up to the closure of the service on December 1st.Super Bomberman R Online servers closing in DecemberThe kicker here is that while the Super Bomberman R Online achievements are pretty straightforward (especially compared to the grindfest of the original game), you can only host private lobbies if you own the Premium Pack. With that now pulled from sale, anyone looking to boost some of the trickier ones will now need to rely on someone else who already has the Premium Pack. Might be time to get some sessions on the go, folks. As for what this closure means for the game’s achievements, it’s an online-only title and all service is being terminated, so it seems likely that all ten achievements will be discontinued come December. Konami ends its notice on a more hopeful note, saying that “the Bomberman series is moving forward with new projects.” Bomberman: Act Zero 2, anyone? No? Thought not. Will you be hopping back into Super Bomberman R Online to grab some achievements before the game gets blown up for good in December? Let us know!
