Cincinnati Reds outfielder Tommy Pham provided an update on his injury, and it has nothing to do with the hand he used to slap San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson.

Last Friday, Cincinnati Reds outfielder Tommy Pham slapped Joc Pederson of the San Francisco Giants across the face. Fans wondered what could have caused such an escalation, and it all stemmed from a fantasy football group text a year prior. As each day passes, the saga between Pham and Pederson only continues.

Pham revealed on Tuesday, May 31 that he is out of the lineup due to “left calf discomfort.” But he did troll Pederson in the process, saying that his hand was good.

After the incident took place this past Friday, where Pham was pulled from the lineup, Pederson told his side of the story, saying that the dispute was over San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson being in an injured reserve spot. Pederson said that Pham accused him of cheating.

Pham then said that his dispute had to do with what Pederson said in the group texts that he does not condone and that he made “disrespectful” comments about the San Diego Padres, Pham’s former team. That, and he said there was “too much money on the line” and that Pederson was “messing with [his] money.”

Pederson then revealed the GIF he sent in the group chat, which trolled the Padres for being unable to make the postseason last season, while the Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers did.

Pham was suspended for three games as a result of slapping Pederson.

While his return from his suspension will have to wait, Pham could not help but say that while he may be dealing with discomfort in his calf, his hand is doing just fine.
