Ark: Survival Evolved’s Fjordur expansion will launch on the same day as the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, which has sparked speculation from the community that we could see Xbox Series X|S console exclusive Ark II during the event.Things have been very quiet from Studio Wildcard since the team announced Ark II at the Game Awards 2020, which introduced us to a digitised version of Vin Diesel. The developer has just announced Ark: Survival Evolved’s latest expansion, Fjordur, with a release date of June 12th, the same day as the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase. It’s a bit of an outside bet, but some members of the game’s community are hopeful that its release heralds an Ark II showing during Microsoft’s big event.Ark: Survival Evolved’s Nordic-inspired Fjordur expansion adds four new creaturesFjordur is a brand-new expansion map for Ark: Survival Evolved, launching on June 12th — which is the first time an Ark update or expansion has launched on a Sunday, apparently, adding to the speculation fire — and introducing four new creatures. Being a “Nordic-inspired adventure,” you’ll have a chance to play around with mythic creatures in the way of the Fjordhawk and Fenrir, as well as two prehistoric creatures: Andrewsarchus and Desmodus. The new map introduces four unique islands to explore, as well as the realms of Jotunheim, Vanaheim, and Asgard, for an even more mythical twist. While the expansion itself sounds like it could be a lot of fun, there isn’t anything there that points towards it showing up during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase. We know Microsoft has a hand in Ark II already, as the game has been announced as an Xbox Series X|S console launch exclusive, so its appearance during the show isn’t outside the realms of possibility. What do you think? Could we find out more about Diesel’s upcoming adventure during next month’s event? Let us know down in the comments.
